The Piantatella Estate spans approximately 40 hectares of the Taranto hills, in the ancient land of Magna Graecia, an area with thousands of years of olive growing and oil producing traditions. The farm’s olive grove has approximately 9,500 trees, some of which are centuries old. Trees are planted in specialized, irrigated groups.
Within 8 hours of being picked, olives (only the ones grown in the farm) are processed in the farm’s own continuous-cycle oil mill. The oil, which is not filtered but rather decanted and allowed to settle several times, is then bottled in glass bottles, ceramic jars and canned in 5 l containers.
Since 2002, the estate has been producing white Chardonnay wine and red Cabernet Sauvignon IGT tarantino.
