The Tenuta di Forci estate is located North of the city of Lucca, at an altitude of 280 metres. With its 375 hectares, it forms a huge amphitheatre facing South. Founded in the 14th century by the very wealthy Buonvisi family from Lucca, the estate includes 23 ancient farms, some of which have been adapted to accommodate tourism.

The olive trees grow on calcareous land, at altitudes ranging from 150 to 300 metres above sea level. Olives are hand picked directly from the trees, between November and December, before they are completely ripe. They are crushed only once at room temperature, in the farm’s own oil mill. The oil is then stored in the dark in partially buried vats coated in slate, a mineral chosen for its impermeability.
