In the upper valley of the river Torto, in the heart of one of the most beautiful and authentic tours of Sicily, lies the territory of Alia "cool, calm and charming mountain village" located on the western side of Madonie Park where they intersect the provinces of Palermo, Agrigento and Caltanissetta. Here is situated the Guccione family farm. The brothers Giovanni and Valentina Dara Guccione run the company, dividing the tasks. The first, doctor agronomist with a PhD in Agricultural Economics and Policy degree and a graduate course on agro-food marketing degree, is involved in production, processing and packaging of extra virgin olive oil and quality management in the company. Valentina, graduate in philosophy, manages the sales and marketing company. Together they want to realize a dream: to produce quality and "selling a territory." The company, which runs for a total of 85 hectares and is composed of two units located in Alia and Palazzo Adriano in Palermo province and is located on a hill about 700 meters above sea level, lies in an area production is not contaminated by pollution sources and produces only second organically certified by an approved inspection body at the international level (CCPB - Bologna). Olive groves are made from plants Cerasuola, Biancolilla and Nocellara Belice. The latter, which represents about 75% of the total, is one of the most interesting varieties of Sicily. The company also carries out farm activities and organizes tasting courses for visitors.
