Located in the large Buon Risposo oasis, established by the Lazio Region to protect the hills between Ardea and Aprilia, the Isoletta a Buon Riposo olive farm was founded in 1956 by Franco and Anna Calissoni. The estate is located in the coastal area, known in ancient times as Lauretum, which, in botanical language means “area of the grapevines and olive trees”.

According to documents over a thousand years old, the Buon Riposo estate was covered by thick olive groves since Roman times, and produced oil that was used in certain specific ceremonies. The estate’s olive groves were run by monks for centuries until they fell under the ownership of several Roman families. The current olive groves were planted in the 40s and now the farm spans approximately 60 hectares. Over 10 thousand olive trees span 26 hectares, covered in Frantoio, Leccino, Moraiolo and Itrana varieties. Isoletta a Buon Riposo offers guided tours of the farm to all those interested in learning more about olive growing.
