La Poderina Toscana is a farm that uses renewable energies, located in Montegiovi in the municipality of Castel del Piano on the slopes of Monte Amiata. It has origins in 1996 from an idea by Fausto Borselli, which in addition to recovering abandoned installations around the family farm, decided to invest in the search for clones of both ancient local vines of olive trees. At la Poderina Toscana, there are about 5000 olive trees (the main part are Olivastra Seggianese, Frantoio, Leccino and Correggiolo) and 3 hectares of vineyards. The farm produces organic extra virgin olive oil (either olive seggianese PDO PGI Tuscany) in the own olive mill and Montecucco DOC red wine, and IGT Toscana white wine all organic. Upstairs there is the family restaurant, called l'Olivastra, for a tasting of organic produce and dishes of traditional Tuscan restaurant. The absolute excellence, awarded each year at an international level, for the family Borselli also means sustainable production and respect for nature, through organic agriculture and the use of renewable sources.
