The name of the mono varietal oil, the "Ottobratico", comes from the homonymous olive variety, which get the optimal maturation in October . It's a native variety, typical of the Reggio Calabria's province and specifically of the hills reaching the Aspromonte National Park, whose San Giorgio Morgeto is part. The Ottobratico is a majestic olive tree. Only the best farmer made it highly productive, getting an excellent extra virgin olive oil. The Ottobratico is a delicate fruity oil. It has got a high content of polyphenols and tocopherols, which give it high stability and make it a very good natural antioxidant. Regarding to this quality in recent years the Faculties of Agricolture of both University of Reggio Calabria and Naples have focused on and researched about.
