L'Oro della Bella
The Azienda Agricola Palagano farm is located in the countryside of Rignano Garganico (in the Foggia Province) in the middle of the National Gargano Park and spans 60 hectares. The propriety is settled nearby the Gargano’s headland on a hilly area which altitude change from 50 to 300 meters above sea level. The lands of the farm are the typical ones of the Gargano characterized by slopes with olive trees, pastures of grass and the Mediterranean maquis. The centre of the farm is a large historic fortified manor farm of the 18th century, that is an example of rural architecture. The manor farm has a wonderful view and is surrounded by the ancient olive trees of Chiusa della Bella. The farm is specialized in olive growing and animal husbandry according to the strictest organic farming methods. The farm not only produce extra virgin olive oil but also a local cheese Caciocavallo podolico, which has permitted the farm to be presided over by Slowfood, a famous national organization that protect the ancient national wine and food heritage.
