The Poggiopiano Farm is located in the green hills of Florence, which overlook the Arno River Valley, amongst Southern facing olive groves and vineyards, 7 km away from Florence’s old town centre. At an altitude of 150 metres above sea level, it spans approximately 17 hectares of calcareous land. During the past few years, the farm has been thoroughly renovated: the farmhouses have been restructured, new equipment has been purchased, and more densely planted vineyards and olive groves have been selected. Special attention was paid to the replanting of the olive groves, selecting traditional Tuscan varieties: Leccino, Moraiolo and Frantoio. The extra virgin olive oil is stored in terracotta jars that have been glazed internally according to the ancient Tuscan tradition. One of the farmhouses, which has been renovated in perfect harmony with local tradition and architecture, currently welcomes tourists for farmhouse holidays. The traditional Tuscan farmhouse has been divided into flats and bedrooms, while the nearby barn has been fitted out as a swimming pool.
