The “Oleificio Cooperativo” cooperative was founded in 1954 by a small number of olive growers. From its establishment to the present, the cooperative’s membership has increased and it currently comprises over 300 members. In 2005, a two-phase, continuous cycle Panorama Genius system was installed along with a plant for preserving and bottling the extra virgin olive oil produced by the members. Oil sold with the Terra di Pietra label is obtained exclusively from olives which have been harvested, milled and bottled in the cooperative’s facilities. The olive groves are positioned on terraces within the city hall of Vallecorsa and encompass a landscape of great beauty and value, characterized by macere, the typical local agrarian and forestry structures. The township still maintains its neo-realistic movie locales. In fact, the famous film “La Ciociara” was set in the town of Vallecorsa.

Organoleptic profile
The color is golden yellow. The green olive bouquet presents itself clearly with almond and artichoke aromas. This oil’s taste is fruity and spicy with a marked bitter note which prevails slightly over the peppery one.
